LMS Nightmares
Updated: Sep 30, 2018

This year has been a struggle as we set up our new system with all of the other systems we use for school learning management system (LMS).
As I write this blog, I have spent a week trying to get my students to connect to our LMS with a minor success. We have a system that organizes all the applications for the student, but the students are having trouble connecting to that system.
This has happened to me last year when I was facilitating a novel study in our LMS last year.
What did I do to solve this issue?
I googled.
I used google to open a back door to allow me to the LMS by googling the LMS system's name and my school district's name.
Wah la! In the words of my 6 year old niece : " Easy peasy! Lemon Squeezy!"

Until you try to teach your 100 students how to do the same thing.
then "Easy Peasy", become Lemon burning your eye sockets nightmare.
Technology can be a wonderful tool until it gets temperamental with you on the due date of the assignments.
I often wonder if the headache of trouble-shooting these issues every time we open a computer is worth it for our learners.
This of course is the voice of my frustrated fixed mindset. I have questions that need answers, so I can use technology to help my students make those meaningful connections.

My question if we are building towards to the digital age of learning for students.
How can we as educators find systems that are user friendly to every type of student?
Is this even a educator's responsibility or does it lie with the powers that be to respond to those issues?
I believe in the purpose and ideas of the presences of digital learning, but how can we better equip our students with the tools if our systems are failing us?
